Rural Community Development Organization (RCDO) is committed to providing meaningful and sustainable volunteer services to rural communities in Africa, specifically in Cameroon. Our programs offer volunteers the chance to engage in cross-cultural exchange, while contributing to healthcare, education, agriculture, and social development, all with the goal of improving the livelihoods of people in underserved rural areas.
As a volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to:

❇️ Support women’s initiatives and promote social wellbeing
❇️ Assist with sustainable agriculture and environmental projects
❇️ Help raise awareness about health, rights, and economic opportunities
❇️ Collaborate with like-minded people committed to positive change
Note: All volunteer positions are unpaid. Volunteers should be prepared to work in under-resourced, rural settings.

(Teaching positions begin in September at the start of the academic year)

Qualifications
🟢 General Applicants: No special qualifications required.
🟢 Health Sector Applicants: Must provide academic credentials and proof of relevant work experience.

Accommodation
We offer homestay options with local families to give you an authentic cultural experience. Hosts are friendly, welcoming, and eager to share their way of life. If preferred, a private stay can be arranged at the volunteer’s expense.
Administrative Fee
As a non-profit organization, our volunteer services are free of charge. However, a $300 USD administrative fee is required to help us cover the cost of processing your application and arranging your placement.
Payment can be made via credit card/Debit card or bank transfer — details available on our website.
